The 33rd National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) took place from November 25-28, 2020, conducted both online and offline, with Universitas Gadjah Mada as the host. The event was attended by 625 teams from 101 universities across Indonesia.
PIMNAS represents the final stage of the Student Creativity Program (PKM), serving as a national platform for students to present and communicate their intellectual creations. Launched in 2001 by the Directorate General of Higher Education, the program aims to foster, accommodate, and realize students' creative and innovative ideas.

The main activities of PIMNAS include online presentations of PKM results and an offline poster exhibition. The online PKM presentation sessions were attended by student groups, supervising lecturers, observers, and a judging panel across seven fields: PKM Research (PKM-PE and PKM-SH), PKM Entrepreneurship (PKM-K), PKM Community Service (PKM-M), PKM Technology Application (PKM-T), PKM Scientific Creation (PKM-KC), PKM Written Ideas (PKM-GT), and PKM Futuristic Constructive Ideas (PKM-GFK).
In the 33rd PIMNAS, Chemical Engineering students from Universitas Sumatera Utara won a bronze-equivalent medal in the PKM-K presentation category for their innovative TRANSSION transparent soap made from passion fruit seed oil, a specialty of North Sumatra. The team consisted of Aufa Nurul Khadijah, Intan Rahayu, Viqry Pramananda, Orlando Oloan Hidari Tan, and Muhammad Rafli Derriansyah, supervised by Dr. Ir. Iriany, M.Si.
