FH-USU PR: On Tuesday (14/05/2024), the Faculty of Law of Universitas Sumatera Utara (FH USU) again conducted the 2024 Guest Lecture Program, which was conducted virtually by presenting international speaker Nikolaos K. Voutyrakos as a guest lecturer. Nikolaos K. Voutyrakos is an Associate Professor at Jindal Global Law School, India, and a lawyer in the UK. The 2024 Guest Lecture Program consists of three sessions related to Intellectual Property Law.

 

 

The first session of this virtual lecture was held on May 14, 2024, at 10.30 WIB with the title Copyright Law Masterclass: From Subsistence to Infringement - Case Study. This session was attended by 106 students. The second session was held on May 21, 2024, with the theme Patent Law Masterclass. This session was attended by 50 students.  Finally, the third session was held on May 28, 2024. The speaker explained the Trademark Law Masterclass and case studies in the last session of the Intellectual Property Law Guest Lecture. This last session was attended by 90 participants.

 

 

Through this guest lecture program, undergraduate students are expected to get an overview of copyrights, patents and trademarks, not only theories but also case studies abroad related to Intellectual Property Law. This guest lecture program can help students who are interested in the topic of Intellectual Property Law to dig deeper into copyright, trademark, and patent case studies.

 

 

The 2024 Guest Lecture Program also has important goals in self-development and insight into legal globalization in the current era of the 5.0 industrial revolution. The Guest Lecture program lasted for 1 hour and 40 minutes in each session. The entire Guest Lecture session was hosted by an Intellectual Property Law lecturer at FH USU, Cheryl Patriana Yuswar, S.H, LL.M.
